Anyway! I return to you spoiled rotten from Norway, land of moose, trolls and vikings.

One of my first self-assigned duties was alphabetising my stash page. I'm a real sucker for that kind of thing so I'm not sure why I didn't do it before..
Moving on -
Here basically my Norwegian shoplog. Which is more of a gift-log, really. (Excluding Dive Bar nail polish, which already has its own post.)

Clothes 'n such!

Always good to kick off with shoes, right? (I'm not even sorry.) The only open-toe heeled shoe I've ever owned were returned sometime the same week because my feet wouldn't stay in them. With the straps in the back here it's no problem keeping them on. Purchased at Bianco.

Let us ignore how ludicrously young I look with my hair not straightened and no make up to be seen. It was too darn hot in here to really care. 

"I want to believe" + "Wild at heart and weird on top" tees come from Weekday.

Everything else! 

On the left, a nice soft, plaid back-pack (and the moose from the top there makes another appearance) bought at an interesting little place called Shangri-La. On the right, a bracelet I got that is basically a bigger version of the lip piercing I used to wear and a teeny tiny polar bear from the Historical Museum. He's so smaaaaall!

I love Doctor Who. A lot. And the Tenth Doctor is my absolute favourite and I've wanted his sonic screwdriver for a long, long time and now I have it. Woohoo!

I love to read so it's no surprise I came home with some books. I always come home with books.
One of the places we visited was the Munch museum, which is where the Munch book came from, and the two Neil Gaimans are just.. because I love Neil Gaiman. They (and the sonic screwdriver) came from Outland, a store I desperately wanted to take home with me but would most likely not have fit into my suitcase.

Shopping Stop.

 I've started a new internship, and while not adhering strictly to any dress code, they do ask that you dress in a representative fashion and keep it a bit professional. What better excuse for a shopping trip?
Mainly wanted to get a blazer - which can turn almost anything from just casual to business casual. And would you look at that ADORABLE bow detailing? Such a lovely touch. (Blazer came from H&M.)

Then, uh, temporarily stepping down from representative and professional.. I stumbled upon this Pink Floyd top and had to have it. I still feel a bit funny about H&M selling bandwear. It doesn't sit entirely right with me.
But I genuinely like Pink Floyd so I couldn't let this one go. Bought my mother corresponding Fleetwood Mac top they had. 
Also, gorgeous teal corduroy trousers. Though you can't really tell they're teal in the picture. 

Ah, fantastic C&A! Having a range of types of jeans that make me feel like my body type is allowed to exist. I love H&M, but their insistence on having almost everything be skinny fit bothers me immensely. Anyone else get that over there?
I love a good ol' fashioned boot cut, I really do. If I had the funding, I'd prance around in extravagant bellbottoms pretty much all the time. But yeah, most of my jeans are pretty worn out and fray like crazy at the bottom so I needed some I could wear to work and not worry about.

Isn't that colour just FANTASTIC on footwear?
My word. I was actually looking for shoes that'd keep me closer to the ground, but I saw these and wanted to try them on. And then I wanted to keep them. Forever.
Also a top in roughly the same colour. Skull made up of hearts! Lovely.

Abunai Acquisitions.

I mentioned having been to the Abunai anime convention in a previous post, and I hadn't really expected to be spending a lot of money there, seeing as my interest in anime, manga and Japanese culture pretty much died down when I was around eleven.. still, I found some nice things to take home with me!

First off, my prized buy of the day. Requires - I should think - very little introduction, but I'm going to give one anyway. I'm sure you're all familiar with the following painting -

Salvador Dalí's 'The Persistence of Memory'

Who doesn't love Dalí? And who hasn't dreamed of having one of those awesome melting clocks? Well...

I've got one! It's cool. You cannot possibly deny that this is one super cool clock. And here's a side view, in case you wondered how that worked. It can hang fairly well off any flat surface, though it has come tumbling down once or twice. I originally wondered if it wouldn't take on a simple decorative function and would be impractical to actually tell time on, but it's really not problematic in the slightest. The numbers are so that it's still perfectly readable. Yay! I'm especially happy because I needed a clock anwyay.

Next, this tiny perler bead Gameboy ring.
Wanted because that's the kind of Gameboy I've got - the Atomic Purple Gameboy Color.
I don't actually wear a lot of rings. I've got skinny fingers so most rings one stumbles accross won't fit me, and I'm generally too cheap to go for the pricier variety, even if you can find those in more sizes or get them remade.
I intended to give a better view with the close up, but it's not actually that much bigger. Oh well.

And now a fun reminder that I am indeed a weird kid. I saw this clip-on bow and I needed it. I really like things with eyeballs on them, not sure why. I just do. Kinda reminds one of Tim Burton, doesn't it?
Not really the type of thing I'd be likely to wear to work, though.

Small Shoplog

I have on occasion been described as somebody that buys too many things. I probably am. Ordinarily, nail polish, books and DVDs - but here some other things I thought I'd share!

This necklace. Isn't it beautiful? I'm really very fond of old-timey, Victorian-looking things. I like this necklace because it's subtly steampunk, but still very much something you can wear on a daily basis without looking out of place. This is just something I stumbled upon in a shop I've been visiting since I was about 12 or so, and if you want one (or one like it - there's a variety) you can order them online at Dominia.

 

Yeah, yeah, August is almost halfway over and she still buys a pair of shorts. For long periods of time I was very strongly opposed against the idea of wearing shorts. Then I fell in love with this pair. The colour is just absolutely beautiful and I had to have them. I briefly despaired seeing they only had S and L left (figuring one would be too small and the other much too big) but I fit in the S with room to spare so I got my shorts after all! 

I am seriously lacking in trousers on which the zipper isn't broken, so, yeah. Haven't taken the tags off. Still unsure about whether to return them or not.

I guess I'm still a goth kid at heart? I've always wanted a pair of these. Doubt I'll actually where them much.. but who knows? Maybe when it gets colder, but not cold enough for proper gloves. Or Halloween.

Updates.

Heya! I realise I don't really post all that frequently; namely because I polish my nails predominantly in the weekends, when I have time to do it properly. I figured I'd at least put in a little update on the polishes I've acquired rather recently.

 

I have complained about being dissatisfied with the matte top coat I had, and the NYC matte top coat came recommended by the very friendly Miriam over at NailTalk.

Then, NYC '206 - East Village', which in colour reminded me a bit of Orly's "Halley's Comet", but less glittery. I'm not a very glittery girl, so I'm not complaining.

Followed by Catrice 'C01 - Innocent Toxin' from the Limited Edition 'Revoiltaire'. Now, it's not hard to see this is pretty much a dead ringer for their ACid/DC. Holding them next to each other in store lights, I couldn't make out any difference at all. With polishes so similar, I'll go for the one with the prettiest bottle.

I wasn't going to buy any more Catrice polishes, but I'd seen '800 - Heavy Metallilac' swatched on some other blogs and I was just in awe! What a stunning purple! Basically, I had to have it. And now I do.

Here's Innocent Toxin on my nails. Sadly, it's not very sunny out, so the pretty shimmer is very difficult to be seen on my picture. The shimmer itself looks a little blueish if you look close enough.

Further more, I want to post more of my older polish jobs and nail arts. However, rather than just mentioning it, I whipped up a little header for those posts. (I'll also be going back and stick it in older posts of the kind already up.) I must say I'm quite fond of kitschy, gimmicky aging effects. Anyway, featuring two fairly old polishes;

Bow-tied & Crystalliced

 Dear picture, why did you refuse turn out not-blurry?

Guess who went shopping? If you guessed me, you'd be right. If you guessed you and you have been shopping too, I hope you got some nice things on your trip as well.

I actually went to pick out new frames for my glasses, but with all the discount on Catrice at Kruidvat I couldn't resist making a quick stop there, since my local Kruidvat doesn't carry the brand at all for some reason (very frustrating)!
Unfortunately I found the amount of Catrice and Essence products carried at the Leiden Kruidvat to be incredibly disappointing.
How I long to be in Rotterdam again, where rows and rows of polishes stretch out before your very eyes! (That may have been hyperbole.) But alas, with my 9-to-5 days I don't get the chance to stop off there anymore, and I'm too lazy to go there on my Saturdays. C'est la vie.

Still, I picked up these. I know these aren't actually leaving the Catrice collection like some of the others, but I don't have a very big amount of Catrice polishes to being with, so I took these babies (650 - It's Rambo No. 5 & 600 - After Eight) home with me.
And of course the Essence Crystalliced '01 It's a Snow-Woman's World'. Quite an interesting colour. The little snowflakes on the handle of the brush are also adorable. Very subtle (so much so that they barely show up in my picture). Can't wait to try it!

I also picked up a little bowtie. I am a Doctor Who fan, after all. (And a fan of plaid.)

I wear bow ties now. Bow ties are cool.
